Position Purpose:

  • A Champion for the food safety management system & employee safety initiatives
  • Ensure we effectively plan, prioritize, price, justify and execute capital & expense project plans
  • Create a culture where employees can thrive personally and professionally
  • Build a cohesive team and execute the Galloway People Development Process
  • Establish group and individual accountabilities and ensure performance is measured against these goals
  • Analyze plant floor technology employed & make recommendations for improvements to support company goals
  • Ensure your team is actively supporting operations, both in terms of daily production demands and operational enhancements to improve performance to KPI metrics
  • The Champion of the Galloway Project Management System
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement to create the most effective and efficient work processes
  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with employees, customers, suppliers and industry contacts
  • Responsible for automation software back-up/testing to ensure business sustainability

 

Primary Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the staffing and overall coaching and development of the Engineering team
  • Responsible for the achievement of the engineering performance metrics
  • Assure compliance and improvements to food safety management system and employee safety initiatives
  • Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of project specifications and procedures
  • Ensure engineering team actively responds to requests from Operations for equipment issues / failures
  • Recommend ideas to reduce our bottom line cost of operations, which includes yield / loss of ingredients
  • Prepare budgets, negotiate bids and contracts and recommend options based on outlined capital expenditure projects
  • Provides support to the Operations Group in developing standard manufacturing processes
  • Active participant in the annual budgeting activities
  • Execute the People Development process to ensure continuity in key positions
  • Food Safety Team Member
  • Resource and mentor for internal employees using the Galloway Project Management System
  • Execute engineering recommendations in conformance with all regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed within the Engineering Group
  • Review, recommend and approve contracts and cost estimates for contractors and outside services
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
  • Flexibility in hours – some weekend/holiday work may be required

Required Knowledge, Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing organization, including managerial experience
  • Highly developed leadership, management, interpersonal, communication, analytical, organizational, decision making, conflict resolution, negotiating, influencing and consultative skills
  • Prior experience with process control and automation
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Prior experience in developing and executing multimillion dollar building construction
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Solid computer skills to include MS Office applications
