Galloway is recruiting for an IT Director; the IT Director will provide leadership in setting strategy, planning, coordinating, advancing, and managing the use of technology and information resources that support the mission and goals of Galloway. This position reports to the President and oversees a team of IT professionals and works with them to strategically advance the business and information functions.  The IT Director is knowledgeable and experienced with current best practices for the management of information technologies, systems, data analysis, design and operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the President, the IT Director will be a key member of the leadership team to apply solutions to address information and technology needs to maintain, scale, innovate and grow the Galloway Company.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Understand the business needs of all key stakeholders and business functions (Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Finance and other executives).
  • Partner with the business users across the functions to execute the applications roadmap and project manage external and internal resources; foster teamwork and collaboration and demonstrate a connectedness to Galloway’s mission and values
  • Create a service-oriented culture with focus on empowering the business and its employees to do their jobs efficiently and conveniently while enhancing collaboration across the enterprise.
  • Lead day-to-day operational management of the group business applications; provide oversight to the IT team and working cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, as well as business solution partners, to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
  • Make informed recommendations on the technology choices to support the business needs; ensure the applications landscape supports the continued growth, innovation, and values.
  • Implement and maintain standard processes and procedures, address technology needs, and provide / implement strategies to meet these needs.
  • Manage IT spend by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget and analyzing variances.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of technology systems including software, platforms and infrastructure, data, and third party service providers/contracts
  • Analyze comparative data to produce regular summaries and reports that provide data on key measures related to the strategic plan and supports planning and decision-making.
  • Manage policies, governance, procedures, and compliance standards for the technology environment in concert with the Senior Leadership Team and relevant Steering Committees.
  • Develop capabilities of direct reports and identify / recruit additional talent as needed to support the IT function.
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

 Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Information Management, Information Systems or an equivalent degree; Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Strong business acumen; sound business-sense and judgment. An understanding of the sourcing / distribution model.
  • Minimum 10 years’ work experience in a role that included direct oversight over areas of the IT function in food & beverage and/or manufacturing related businesses.
  • Successful large-scale implementation experience (e.g., ERP, WMS, QMS, CRM, etc.).
  • Ability to look 2-3 years ahead and balance current state short-term initiatives with long-term innovation plans.
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation oversight of IT strategy, project portfolio management (PPM), architecture and standards, and infrastructure.
  • Teamwork orientation, low ego, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (written, oral, listening, influencing, coaching, strategic planning).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives with minimal oversight.
